Faith Works Through Love
Citing Galatians 5:1–6, we understand that faith works through love. This means it functions through love to God and love toward our brethren. The Bible teaches that faith and love are inseparable.
Watch here.
Where there is genuine faith, there is genuine love. True Christian faith is a working grace; it expresses itself through love, forgiveness, and obedience. Without faith working by love, all else is worthless.
In Mark 11:25–26, Jesus clearly connects faith and forgiveness. Without love, the power of faith becomes short-circuited.
It is not enough to profess Christianity in words; we must live it through action. To run the race of life well, our faith must be fueled by love and sustained by grace.
Faith works through love. This is the foundation of Christian living. To know God’s presence is to know His power, and that power cannot be entrusted to a person that does not love or forgive.
Love is not optional; it is the evidence of true faith and the pathway to divine power.
Faith Acts in Concert with Love
Forgiveness as the Proof
As Matthew 5:44 commands, “Love your neighbour.” When we love our neighbour, we pray even for our enemies and for those who persecute us. The love of God sees beyond hatred; it is limitless and protective.
Our love becomes our shield against the adversary’s hatred. Through forgiveness, our spiritual growth deepens, and our relationship with God strengthens.
Jesus linked faith to forgiveness because unforgiveness blocks divine power. When we refuse to forgive, we disconnect from God’s presence and lose the power to heal, redeem, and save. A person who will not love or forgive cannot be trusted with God’s spiritual authority.
One great errand we have before the throne of grace is to pray for forgiveness. It was Jesus’ great desire that His disciples love one another. If you want your prayers to be answered, ensure there is nothing standing between you and God.
Forgiveness and healing are connected. Our relationship with God depends more than we think on how we treat one another.
The Act of Giving as the Proof
Giving and love are also acts of faith. Giving opens the door to reshape your destiny. By amazing grace and amazing love, God looked at Daniel, a slave, and saw in him a leader.
Likewise, when you ask Jesus, “Look at me, a sinner, and have mercy on me,” you activate the transforming power of faith through love and humility.
The Christian life is a race of faith. You must run with endurance and hold fast to your calling if you would receive the prize. Dead men don’t have faith – living faith is active, resilient, and obedient.
God chose you before the foundation of the world and placed in your heart the very faith you now use to receive Jesus.
Faith Works Through Love – Prayer and Faith
Prayer and faith go hand in hand. Praying is not merely saying words; the power lies in the sincerity of our hearts.
Romans 12:2 teaches that the power of the Lord’s Prayer comes not from repetition but from renewing our minds to align with God’s will. True prayer flows from love, humility, and transformation.
When you love, you will be entrusted with divine power. But when you refuse to love, you cannot be entrusted because you might misuse that power to harm yourself or others.
Love disciplines the heart and ensures that faith serves the purpose of God’s kingdom.
To pray effectually, there must be no barrier between us and God. A person who will not love or forgive cannot be entrusted with power – the power to heal, to deliver, to bless, and to set others free. Without love, that same power becomes self-destructive.
Conclusion
True faith works through love. Faith acts with love, forgives with mercy, and shows compassion. Love drives faith and God heals, restores, and strengthens believers.
To live a victorious Christian life, let your faith be rooted in love, your prayers shaped by forgiveness, and your actions guided by compassion. Love is the force that activates faith and unlocks divine power.
