📖 Keys to Unlocking Your Destiny Blog Series
Ask yourself: are you really the person God wants you to be? Am I the person God wants me to be? The first step to knowing your calling and your destiny – what God wants you to be is to get to know God better.
This is not about religious conduct or outward behavior but about truly knowing God. Many Christians today claim to know God by confessing faith in His Word, yet deny it in action.
We must know God better to discover ourselves. You are what God says you are, even if you don’t realize it. You can do what God says you can do, and you have what God says you have.
When you truly embrace this truth, the sky will be your limit, and you will live without comparing yourself to others.
How do we Discover our Calling from God?
How do we discover our calling from God? Whatever you do through God, that is your calling. Acting through God means hearing Him through His Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
When God empowers your actions, He strengthens you through every trial. Your faith becomes solid because you act on what God has spoken. Acting on what God has not spoken is not faith; it is imagination. True believing is simply acting on what God has revealed.
If your Father promises something and you base your faith on that promise, your believing is secure. This is why we must know God’s will and act according to it.
Believing becomes easy when you act on His promises, not on assumptions.
Discover and Activate your Calling: Know God through His Word
Psalm 119:105 answers the question, “What is my calling?” If God’s Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path, then the first step in knowing your calling is to know God through His Word.
As God communicates through His Word and by His Spirit, you will understand what He wants you to do and where He wants you to go.
God cannot act with you if you do not hear Him through His Word. Romans 12:2 teaches that when we allow God to transform us by the power of the Holy Spirit, He begins to reveal His plan for our lives.
Many resist transformation, yet God waits for us at the point of His Spirit. We can read the Bible anywhere, but the Holy Spirit brings understanding. We must be ready to be reformed and abide by His principles.
God’s Word alone is not enough; it must be in the hands of the Holy Spirit. Without Him, our words are only about ourselves. God’s Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit, nurtures us and equips us to succeed according to His will.
The Holy Bible provides food for your soul, guides your steps, and purifies your heart. It protects us from sin and equips us to live in faith.
Let the Word of God guide every conversation, whether on the phone, in business, or in daily life. Use God’s Word as the foundation of your faith and decisions.
Discover and Activate your Calling: Recognize your Weakness
Understanding your calling also involves recognizing your weaknesses. Your weakness can draw you closer to God, prompting more prayer, fasting, and reliance on Him.
When weakness becomes a way to connect with God, it turns into a blessing. Your heart becomes an altar, and God strengthens your position before Him.
Satan tries to undermine that position, but when you are where God wants you, even walking through the valley of the shadow of death will not bring fear. God speaks strength and courage through trials to those who follow His will.
Conclusion
Knowing your calling begins with knowing God. Believing is acting on what God has promised, not imagination. God’s Word, guided by the Holy Spirit, directs our steps and reveals His plan for our destiny.
When we embrace our weaknesses, submit to His transformation, and follow His guidance, we step fully into the life God designed for us.
Stand where God wants you, act in His will, and allow the Holy Spirit to empower you. In doing so, your life becomes a testimony of faith, forgiveness, obedience, and purpose.
