💗 Love Blog Series
The term love is familiar to us today, yet the practice of Biblical love has been watered down – even among believers who are commanded to be known by love.
Although love is the greatest Christian virtue, many Christians no longer reflect it in their daily lives. In this series on Biblical Love, we will explore what God expects from us, because love is not optional for a believer; it is a command.
Discover the key principles of Biblical Love – Christlike love, obedience, compassion, and true love that goes beyond feelings and follows God’s commandments.
Biblical Love – The Forgotten Love
We are known by our lives and actions. How we feel does not define love, because faith is not a feeling. Jesus Christ demonstrated compassion and true love throughout His life.
Scriptures such as Matthew 5:43–45, Luke 23:34, John 13:34, and 1 John 3:18 show that love has lost its meaning today, often reduced to selfish or material interests.
Obedience: The Key to Love
Jesus teaches us that to love God means to obey His commandments (John 14:15). We show love by doing what God wants – refusing to kill, steal, lie, or bear false witness – and by loving others sincerely.
God does not ask whether we feel like loving; love is our responsibility. What makes us truly human is not our ability to think but our ability to love one another.

If you want to grow in Christlike love, begin by loving those who dislike you, misunderstand you, or criticize you. This reflects the love Jesus showed when He prayed, “Father, forgive them” (Luke 23:34).
If you love many people but refuse to love those who oppose you, your love is incomplete. God “causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good” (Matthew 5:43–45), loving all with the same infinite love.
The more you love God, the more you will love your neighbor – even those who do not share your faith.
Are your neighbors on your daily prayer list? Do you intercede for them, rejoice with them, and stand in the gap for them? Let us love one another regardless of race or religion, for true love comes from God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
