In our previous article, “God’s Time Is the Best,” we reflected on one of Prophet T.B. Joshua’s enduring teachings—that God’s timing is always perfect. We saw that when we learn to trust His appointed time, we discover His wisdom, provision and peace. But understanding God’s time and season is only part of the journey. We must also understand the seasons through which He accomplishes His purpose in our lives.

Everything is beautiful in its time. These words from Ecclesiastes remind us that God is never late, never early and never out of step with His perfect plan. Every season of life has a purpose, even when we do not fully understand it.
One of the profound messages shared by Prophet T.B. Joshua is that God has appointed a time and season for everything. Our responsibility is not to force His hand but to trust His wisdom, knowing that His plan unfolds beautifully according to His appointed time.
As Ecclesiastes 3:11 declares, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
This Scripture reveals both the beauty and the mystery of God’s plan. We long for eternity, yet we cannot fully comprehend everything God has done from beginning to end. He allows everything to unfold in its appointed time and season, and it is this divine order that reveals the beauty of His creation.
God’s Time and Season: God Answers Prayer in His Time
There is a time to labour and a time to reap. A time to wait and a time to receive. A time of preparation and a time of fulfilment.
Many of us have experienced seasons when we worked diligently, prayed fervently and remained faithful, yet the answers we expected did not come immediately. At such moments, it is easy to wonder whether God has heard our prayers.
Yet it is always the mind of God to answer prayer.
Even when His answer is not what we expect—or not yet what we desire—He is still speaking. Sometimes His response is:
“Be patient—I need to preserve you.”
“Be patient—I am preparing you for a new level.”
“Be patient—I am reforming you for a better position.”
“Be patient—I am preparing you for the challenges ahead.”
What we sometimes mistake for delay is often God’s loving preparation.
When we ask for bread and do not immediately receive it, we may feel forgotten. Yet God sees beyond today’s request. He knows the season that will bring the greatest blessing.
We may labour faithfully, but God determines the season of harvest. After you have done everything you know to do, leave the matter with Him. He alone knows the right time for His purpose to be revealed.

When Human Strength Gives Way to God’s Grace
In our younger years, we often believe we can accomplish everything through intelligence, determination and hard work. Yet life teaches us that human effort has its limits.
We may labour tirelessly, pursue every opportunity and exhaust every resource, only to discover that success ultimately depends upon God’s appointed time.
There comes a point when our own strength is no longer enough. That is often where God’s grace begins to shine most clearly.
As long as self-confidence occupies the heart, the confidence born of God has little room to grow.
Jesus never forces Himself upon anyone. When He met blind Bartimaeus, although the man’s condition was obvious, He still asked, “What do you want Me to do for you?” He allows us to exhaust whatever confidence we place in ourselves and the world so that we may truly appreciate the value of depending on Him.
Peter’s experience illustrates this truth beautifully in Luke 5:4-5. After labouring all night without catching a single fish, Peter sat discouraged and exhausted. His years of experience, professional skill and personal determination had produced nothing. Yet when Jesus spoke, everything changed.
The same man who had spent his life catching fish would soon become a fisher of men. His occupation changed. His direction changed. His purpose changed.
When the grace of God comes upon us, our labour gives way to His purpose. What human effort could not accomplish, God’s perfect timing brought to pass.
There Is a Time to Wait and a Time to Move
Our walk with God includes different seasons.
There is a time to walk with Him, and there is a time to go forth in His assignment. A time to march with Him and a time to march for Him. This explains the instruction given to the disciples in Acts 1:1-end.
Before the disciples began their ministry, Jesus instructed them to remain in Jerusalem until the appointed time. They were not to move ahead of God’s schedule.
Even Jesus Himself acknowledged the Father’s perfect timing, saying, “Father, the hour has come.” (John 17:1)
This reminds us that God’s work is never driven by human urgency but by divine appointment.
There is wisdom in waiting for God’s instruction, and there is power in moving when He says, “Go.”
Trust God’s Time and Season
Life will bring seasons of waiting, seasons of testing and seasons of fulfilment. Each one has a purpose in God’s time and season, because every stage of our journey is guided by His wisdom and love.
We may labour and work hard, but it is God who determines the time and season of harvest.
After doing all that lies within our ability, we must leave the outcome in His hands. He never forgets faithful labour, and He never misses the right moment to fulfil His purpose.
Although we may not understand every season while we are living through it, we can trust the God who ordains every season. His wisdom reaches beyond our understanding, His timing reaches beyond our expectations and His purpose reaches beyond our imagination.
When we learn to surrender our plans to Him, we discover that everything truly is beautiful in its time.
For when God appoints the season, the harvest will surely come. And when His purpose is revealed, we will understand that every moment of waiting was part of His perfect plan.
As we continue into Time and Season Part 2, we will discover how God uses every season—even seasons of disappointment, delay and difficulty—to fulfil His purpose. What we experience today may be part of a greater divine arrangement that is preparing us for where God wants us to be.
