Believing is possessing. When you believe God’s Word, you possess the thing that His Word has guaranteed.
Faith is more than simply saying that we believe in God. It is trusting His Word to the point where what God has said becomes settled in our hearts. When we believe His Word, we can pray with confidence, knowing that God hears us and that His will is being done.
The teaching “Believing Is Possessing” points us to an important truth about the Christian life: faith must be rooted in God’s Word. When we pray according to His will and approach Him through the name of Jesus, we can leave the matter in His care rather than continuing to carry it through worry.

What Does It Mean to Believe? Believing Is Possessing
The central message of this teaching is simple: believing is possessing.
When you believe God’s Word, you possess what His Word has guaranteed. In 1 John 5:1–4, 6–14, we see the connection between believing, overcoming and confidence in God. The passage also teaches that when we ask according to His will, He hears us.
“He hears us, that is as good as an answer, that is as good as a solution.” – T.B Joshua
Knowing that God hears us changes the way we respond after prayer. Instead of continuing to carry the matter in worry, we can leave it with Him.
This is why T.B. Joshua said:
“If you believe, leave it for God; don’t worry yourself.”
Are you troubled? Leave it for God.
Are you in pain? Leave it for God.
If you believe, leave it for Him.
When you pray in the name of Jesus, the matter is in His care. Jesus becomes your standby and prayer should be followed by an attitude of absolute trust in Christ that He is working out the answer.
This produces a settled heart:
“My heart knows that the case is settled, if you believe.”
That is the voice of a believer. That is the voice of a possessor.
The Relationship Between Prayer, Scripture and Faith
Prayer and reading the Bible should always go together because prayer has a language, and God’s Word teaches us that language.
Mark 11:24 says:
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Our prayer is based upon His Word. This is why T.B. Joshua said:
“Fill your prayer with the Scriptures because scriptural prayer releases the power of God.”
The Bible is food for the soul. It is a spiritual weapon and a guide for our feet. Without it, we walk in darkness. It has purifying power, healing power and enduring power. It keeps us from sin and error and rejoices the heart.
Read it.
Before your heart can know that the case is settled, it must be rooted and grounded in the Word. If your heart is not rooted and grounded in the Word, what God says is not final with you.
The Word therefore becomes the foundation for prayer. As we know what God has said, we learn to pray according to His will.
Living With Confidence in God’s Will
When your heart is rooted and grounded in God’s Word, you can pray and know that you are seeking the will of God.
“We pray according to His will. We are assured that He heard us and if He hears us that is as good as an answer.”
This is the confidence of a believer.
You and God are cooperating. You pray according to the instructions given by Him and approach Him through the name of Jesus.
Faith also produces a corresponding attitude.
You ask for healing, so you get out of bed and walk.
After asking for money, you make provision to pay the bill.
You ask for rain, so you put on your raincoat and prepare for the rain.
This is the attitude of one whose heart knows that the case is settled.
What Does It Mean to Believe? Believing Is Possessing
Referring to Romans 9:1, the author asks, “What bears you witness? Is it your body? Your mind? Your flesh?”
The answer is:
“My conscience bears me witness.”
When God’s Word is established in the heart, it becomes the basis for knowing His will and walking according to His instructions. This is why the message emphasizes:
“Salvation first.”
When salvation comes, you will know His will in your life.
Believing is therefore not merely a word we speak. It is a confidence established by God’s Word – a confidence that enables us to pray according to His will, trust that He has heard us and leave the matter in His care.
“My heart knows that the case is settled, if you believe.”
That is the voice of a believer. That is the voice of a possessor.
When you believe, leave it for God.
