In Part 1 of this series, we discovered that God has appointed a time and season for everything. We learned that every season of waiting, preparation and fulfilment reveals God’s Purpose In Every Season of our lives. Although we may not always understand why God allows certain experiences, we can trust that He is working according to His divine plan.

But what about the difficult seasons? What about times of disappointment, setbacks and hardship?

One of Prophet T.B. Joshua’s enduring teachings is that we must learn to look beyond our present situation. What we experience today may be part of a greater divine arrangement, revealing God’s Purpose In Every Season for our lives.

Everything remains beautiful in its time because God is carefully arranging every event according to His perfect will.

Beyond Your Situation Lies God’s Purpose

When we look around us, we can see that God’s plan is beautiful, yet His plan unfolds within the limits of time. Life is too short to spend pursuing things that have no lasting value. Every one of us has a beginning and an end, and between those two points God is working out His purpose.

As we saw in Luke 5, it was not by mere chance that Jesus chose Peter’s boat by the seaside. It was a providential arrangement—a divine appointment as it should be by divine will. God had already designed every event that would lead Peter into the purpose for which he had been called.

Before Peter became a source of blessing to many people, he experienced disappointment, setbacks, poverty and want. What seemed like failure was actually preparing the way for God’s greater plan.

The same is true in our own lives.

Whatever situation you may be facing today, if you are able to look beyond it, you will begin to understand what God is saying through it. Beyond your situation lies God’s purpose. The circumstances you are experiencing today may be part of the events God is arranging to reveal God’s Purpose In Every Season until His will is fully revealed in your life.

Keep Your Dream Before You

There is always something more important than the situation you are passing through—your God-given dream and purpose.

Men and women of purpose do not concentrate on where they are. Their focus remains on where God is taking them.

Where are you now? Are you in abject poverty? Remember, the man who is poor is not the one who has no money but the one who has no dream. True poverty is not an empty pocket but the absence of God’s vision and purpose for one’s life.

Joseph understood this truth.

When he was thrown into the dry pit, he knew that was not where he belonged. When he served in Potiphar’s house, he remembered his dream. Even in prison, he refused to allow his circumstances to define his future.

His dream comforted him through every difficult season because he knew God had shown him something greater.

When we lose sight of where God is taking us, every difficulty becomes overwhelming. But when we remember His purpose, we gain the strength to endure.

As the sermon reminds us, “When you do not know where you are going, anything can influence you.” Disappointment can discourage you. Offence can distract you. Delay can cause you to lose hope.

But when your destination remains clear, your circumstances no longer determine your future.

Hard Times Reveal True Believers

Life will test every believer.

There will be seasons when affliction comes. There will be times of sickness, disappointment and hardship. We all make mistakes, and we all experience moments of weakness.

Yet the people of God do not remain where they have fallen. With Christ supporting our position, we rise again.

Jesus offers us something the world can never give. As He promised in John 14:27, His peace is not like the peace the world offers. In Him there is peace, healing, deliverance and true freedom.

It is often during life’s hardest moments that genuine faith becomes visible.

When everything is going well, it is easy to confess that Jesus is Lord. But true believers are recognised during difficult times. When expectations seem delayed and circumstances move in the opposite direction, they continue to trust God’s purpose.

Rather than allowing hardship to separate them from their calling, they hold firmly to the profession of their faith, believing that God is still at work.

Jesus Knows Your Past, Present and Future

After witnessing the miraculous catch of fish, Simon Peter became deeply conscious of his own sinfulness. He said to Jesus, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man.” (Luke 5:8)

Peter understood that he stood before the One who was perfectly holy.

Today, we are no longer conscious of our sin. Many people approach God only with their requests and complaints, forgetting the holiness of the One to whom they pray. Yet Peter’s response reminds us that true faith begins with humility and an awareness of our need for God’s mercy.

The wonderful truth is that Jesus already knows us completely.

He knows who we were.

He knows who we are.

He knows who we shall become.

Nothing about our lives is hidden from Him. Our past does not surprise Him, our present does not confuse Him and our future is already known to Him.

This is why we can confidently place our lives in His hands, trusting that His purpose will always prevail.

Trust God’s Time and Season

As believers, we are forward lookers. We always believe that the best is yet to come because our confidence rests not in our present circumstances but in God’s unfailing purpose.

When the road becomes difficult, we remember the dream He has placed within our hearts. That dream becomes our direction, our guide and our roadmap until His purpose is fulfilled.

Throughout every season, God’s purpose continues to unfold as He arranges events according to His perfect will. Even the disappointments, delays and hardships we experience are never outside His divine plan.

Although we may not understand every season while we are living through it, we can trust the God who sees the end from the beginning. He is working through every circumstance to accomplish His purpose in our lives.

Beyond today’s disappointment lies tomorrow’s purpose. Beyond today’s delay lies God’s appointed time.

When we learn to trust His time and season, we discover that every experience—even those we would never have chosen—is working together to reveal His beautiful plan.

For beyond your situation lies God’s purpose, and in God’s appointed time, everything truly is beautiful.
